#25.45 - Smarter Bookings, Sharper Insights

Hey everyone! These past two weeks have been packed with progress. I’ve been deep in the details of making Itsy feel smoother, smarter, and more powerful to use day-to-day. From smarter product selection to giving teams more control over their data, this cycle really focused on making travel management more intuitive and independent.

The highlight of this update is the new self-service reporting system — a feature that’s been on my roadmap for a while. Admins can now run their own reports, apply filters like date ranges or suppliers, sort results, and export them to CSV. No more waiting for custom queries — you’ve now got real-time insight into your business data, whenever you need it.

Alongside that, I added Smart Product Pre-Selection, which automatically chooses the most logical starting options when a customer begins booking. It saves clicks, reduces confusion, and makes the booking flow feel effortless. On the backend, there’s now tight integration between inventory and trips, letting you create trip products directly from inventory items — a massive step toward better data consistency and bulk updates.

I also revisited some long-requested details: admins can now edit order dates directly, complete with validation and timeline tracking, and manually assign participants to specific products with real-time price recalculation. Inventory variants can now be safely soft-deleted, and booking dates automatically stay within valid trip ranges. Add in clearer duration displays, cleaner badges with icons, and consistent export formatting, and the whole platform feels more polished.

Behind the scenes, I added Sentry error tracking for real-time performance and reliability monitoring, cleaned up unused components, and improved date handling by switching to DateOnly types to eliminate timezone issues. It’s a quieter kind of progress — but the kind that makes everything run that much smoother.

All in all, this was a seriously productive couple of weeks. Between smarter bookings and sharper data tools, Itsy’s getting easier and more enjoyable for everyone to use. Next up: mobile responsiveness improvements and a fresh dashboard view. Thanks for following along — and as always, keep the feedback coming!
